Kindergarten at BeanTree Learning is a special place. Through a full-day program, small class sizes, ample materials and supplies, and degreed, experienced teachers, children grow and learn at their own pace, developing the self-esteem necessary to enter elementary school prepared and confident.
At BeanTree Learning, we believe it is necessary to present children with both teacher-directed and child-initiated activities. Our Kindergarten curriculum contains objectives that exceed the Virginia Standards of Learning, and include reading, math, science, language, writing, social studies and foreign language, along with fully integrated activities in character development, technology, art and music.
Our Kindergarten teachers are experienced educators who are required to have at least a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. They teach in both group and individual settings to ensure that your child is developing the skills necessary to enter First Grade equipped and eager for the challenges ahead. The teacher to child ratio is 1:14, with an additional Assistant Teacher who facilitates communication, works with small groups on specific challenging concepts, and provides consistency and support to the entire Kindergarten program.
Stimulating field trips help our Kindergarteners explore their world, expound on their daily classroom activities, and deepen their knowledge of the world around them.
Daily challenges push Kindergarteners to develop answers on their own by using critical thinking, hands-on materials, and computer and internet resources while supported by encouraging, loving teachers.
